Melbourne-based cellist, Belinda Liew  is a passionate chamber player, soloist and orchestral musician.

Possessing a highly versatile musical voice, Belinda regularly performs as a soloist and chamber musician often collaborating with emerging Australian contemporary composers.

Since graduating from the University of Melbourne in 2011 where she studied with Rachel Atkinson, Belinda has been an avid performer as a soloist, chamber musician and orchestral player. In 2014 she founded the Daphnis Trio with Chris Nankervis (piano) and Nathan Juriansz (violin). The ensemble performed regularly throughout Melbourne and regional Victoria, showcasing works of contemporary Australian composers including numerous world premieres, as well as great classic works for piano trio. In 2019 the ensemble re-launched as the Daphnis Ensemble  as a collaborative project that will feature fellow Melbourne musicians performing a range of ensembles from duos to piano quintets.

Since 2017 Belinda has been a regular member of Ensemble Goldentree - a collaborative project dedicated to the cultivation of engaging experiences with new and rarely performed works. She has also regularly performed as principal cellist with orchestras including the Australian & Australaisian Orchestra, Orchestre Nouveau and the Hopkins Sinfonia. Being an active freelance cellist has provided her with the opportunity to collaborate with a wide range of artists from visual artists to Michael Bublé and the Ministry of Sound.

Belinda currently plays a German Zimmermann cello made at the turn of the 20th century. She is generously sponsored by Southgate Financial Services Pty Ltd.
